Three days ago the world lost the greatest entertainer ever lived, Michael Jackson. Michael died on Thursday, June 25, of cardiac arrest at the age of 50. Michael was truly the King of Pop and he lived up to that title until the very end. His music and style will transcend through the times and he will forever be remembered.I was deeply moved by the sudden death of Michael Jackson. Although I did not know the man personally, yet I can’t help admire him for his talent and the choice to use it for good and his undying perseverance in the faces of great trials. Besides the great success in his professional career, the rest of his life seemed to have been in turmoil from a very young age. As much as he was surrounded by people everywhere he went (mostly people who wanted something from him), he seemed to live a very lonely life.
A couple more takeaways from the death of Michael Jackson in addition to the takeaways from my previous post about the new report on life expectancy that I call absolute truths:
- Money can’t buy you love or happiness.
- The possessions money can buy do not bring love or happiness.
As human beings, we are naturally seekers. What we seek for most is genuine relationships, especially the one that is eternal and saves lives. Michael seems to have been seeking all his life and not find what he was looking for. This is what saddens me the most - the thought of his after life possibly continuing in turmoil. I do hope with all my heart that he is finally resting in peace in heaven right after he took his last breath. My thoughts and prayers go to his family and friends.
